Guided Nature Hike

Get outdoors and go on a guided tour of Camp Helen State Park! Led by park ranger staff, you’ll learn information about the flora and fauna throughout the park. Dress appropriately for the weather and have a water bottle and insect repellent available. The program is free with paid park entry of $4 per vehicle. Visit their website

PCB Dive Fest

Support America’s wounded veterans during this fun weekend of diving, parties and prize giveaways. Hosted by the Atlanta Aquanauts Dive Club as a fundraiser benefiting SUDS (Servicemembers Undertaking Disabled Sports), this event will include a welcome reception on Friday 4th and a Silent Auction and Raffle on 4th. Everyone is invited to this free two-day music extravaganza at Academy Park! The weekend kicks off with David Ryan Harris on stage at 6 p.m. and enjoy the day on Saturday with performances by Massalina Cargo, Loose Cannon, Mitch Pierson Music Trio and Alex Napier & DayBreak from 2 p.m. There will be food trucks, vendors, and fun activities for the kids.

Head over to Swampy Jack’s for two different haunt attractions this October as we get into the spirit of Halloween. The Lusus Naturae SKULK Trail is a dark thickly wooded wetland area infested by monsters while Mr. Creepies Big Tent Labyrinth is a jumble of mazes swarming with psychotic clowns and demented freaks. Open every Friday and Saturday, and Halloween Night. Black Out/Lights Out events on October 4th and 25th when all lights will be turned off and each guest will be given a glowstick to make their way though. Tickets can be purchased online

History Tour

Go beyond your park visit and discover the past and present on a ranger guided history walking tour of the grounds at Camp Helen. Learn about the rich history of Camp Helen’s Historic District, which is a Nationally Registered Historic Place, from the Hicks family building all the way to when Avondale Textile Mill utilized the property for their employee summer retreat .
