Ranger-led Nature Hike
Camp Helen State Park | Panama City Beach

Get outdoors and go on a guided tour of Camp Helen State Park! Led by park ranger staff, you’ll learn information about the flora and fauna throughout the park. Dr Seuss’ “How the Grinch Stole Christmas” (The Musical)

Panama City Theatre Company is bringing a little bit of Whoville to the Barbara W. Nelson Fine Arts Center this December with their production of How the Grinch Stole Christmas! The Musical. Featuring a cast of 20 local performers, the show blends Dr. Seuss’ classic story with lively songs, colorful sets, and plenty of holiday charm. It’s a fun, family-friendly way to kick off the season — whether you’re introducing the story to little ones or reliving a favorite childhood tale. History Tour

Go beyond your park visit and discover the past and present on a ranger guided history walking tour of the grounds at Camp Helen. Learn about the rich history of Camp Helen’s Historic District, which is a Nationally Registered Historic Place, from the Hicks family building all the way to when Avondale Textile Mill utilized the property for their employee summer retreat . PCB Marathon
Pier Park | Panama City Beach

One of Panama City Beach’s biggest annual athletic events returns on December 6, bringing runners of all ages out for a full marathon, half, 5K, and a Kid’s Fun Run. The course winds along some of the area’s most scenic shoreline, making it a popular draw for both locals and visitors — and a Boston-qualifying opportunity for those chasing bigger goals. Presented by Visit Panama City Beach and hosted by the Panama City Beach Chamber of Commerce, the race has become a true community staple. And once you cross the finish line, the celebration continues with a post-race party at Jimmy Buffett’s Margaritaville, complete with free beer and gumbo. Christmas Parade

Annual Boat Parade of Lights

This year adds an extra sparkle with a drone show over the west side of the Panama City Marina, giving spectators a magical sky-and-water experience. New Year’s Eve Ball Drop

This award-winning celebration — named “Best New Year’s Eve Drop” by USA TODAY 10Best — offers fun for all ages with live music, fireworks, and plenty of family-friendly activities. The Kids FUN Zone opens at 4:00 p.m. with slides, obstacle courses, bungee trampolines, and games, while an early Kids’ Beach Ball Drop at 8:00 p.m. gives little ones a taste of the excitement. As midnight approaches, the giant ten-foot beach ball atop Celebration Tower descends in a thrilling countdown over Pier Park, accompanied by a dazzling fireworks display launched from Russell-Fields Pier.
